“RELAY FOR LIFE”

Brother Olandus Smith

On May 6, 2017 at Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas, the brothers of OMICRON PI Chapter supported the annual “West Bell County Relay for Life” presented by The American Cancer Society. The yearly walk was held from 1 to 11 pm with several members of the chapter participating in the walk throughout scheduled shifts to ensure that someone from the chapter’s team was on the track until the completion of the event. The chapter aided the cause by contributing food, drinks and snacks to the other participating Relay for Life teams. There was great fellowship amongst the brothers of OMICRON PI, our fellow Greeks and the local Killeen, TX community. The day stressed the importance of those still fighting, those who support their fight with Cancer, and continuing to relay as much information of the importance for supporting the fight against Cancer! The night closed with the luminaire ceremony, a moment of silence, and giving respect to the remembrance of those who have passed away from their fight with cancer. It was very nice to see the Killeen and Fort Hood community banding together to support such an important cause.
